Pathology Queensland

Health Support Queensland operates Pathology Queensland – the state’s largest public pathology laboratory – at Herston Health Precinct. Pathology Queensland delivers the most comprehensive range of highly specialised pathology testing including molecular genetics, cytogenetics, tissue typing and organ donor matching and newborn screening.

The central laboratory at Herston provides blood transfusion services to metropolitan, regional and district public hospitals, while also providing blood for smaller rural hospitals through Careflight in emergencies.
