Genetic Health Queensland

Genetic Health Queensland (GHQ) provides specialised clinical genetics services for children, adults and their families with a suspected or known inherited or genetic health condition. Based at Herston Health Precinct, GHQ’s medical specialists and genetic counsellors provide regular outreach clinics and telehealth consultations throughout regional Queensland.

GHQ works in partnership with both the Australian Genomics Health Alliance and Queensland Genomics Health Alliance to support increased innovation and drive research and technology in this highly-specialised and evolving field of medicine and assess the translation of genomics into clinical practice.

GHQ is also involved in a number of flagships including renal, cancer genetics, genomic autopsy, rapid sequencing and co-lead of the cardiovascular genetics flagship.

The use of genomic technologies will have a transformative effect on personal health and wellbeing, and health economics.
